Facility


We offer Permanent and Short Term Accommodation to our residents.

Murambi House can accommodate approximately 110 – 115 residents with providing individual and personal attention to each person.

Housing


We currently have:
42 private Single rooms of which the majority have en-suite facilities

15 Double Semi Private Rooms

8 Flats Double and Single Accommodation

4 Wards – 1 x 6 bed; 1 x 4 bed; 2 x 4 bed

Special Housing


The Dementia / Alzheimer`s unit currently has 16 beds.

Some residents with Dementia / Alzheimer`s are also accommodated in private rooms

Special Facilities Available


We have a Clinic where bedridden and terminally ill residents are taken care of.

The residents make use of their own Medical Practitioners with whom the nursing staff is liaising on regular intervals.

Murambi offers post-operative and palliative care.

Qualified Nursing staff on premises 24 hours a day - currently 7 sisters and staff nurses / assistants and carers currently 52 / Students doing practical for 3 months at a time – 20 (THESE ARE ONLY the nursing department)

In House


Murambi offers Day Care for families who want to leave a family member here while they are at work.

Our household staff currently consists of a housekeeper and 10 assistants who are responsible for the daily servicing of rooms etc.

Our fully equipped laundry is staffed by 6 ladies and they take care of the washing and ironing of all clothing and linen.

We have a maintenance gentleman as well as 4 gardeners / cleaners.

Murambi has its own kitchen where well balanced home cooked meals are prepared 3 times a day.

Kitchen staff consists of 2 Manager / Chefs ; 2 Cooks as well as 4 kitchen assistants.

Our Kitchen works according to a 4 weekly menu cycle (winter and summer menu).

Murambi caters for any resident who needs assistance but we also cater for residents who are still independent.

After Care


Murambi organises entertainment as often as possible / we have group session physiotherapy classes twice weekly / outings to school plays etc. and games mornings.

Murambi also has its own library with a large variety of reading material.

A Hairdresser is on the premises once a week.

Tuck shop on the premises.

Murambi`s fee structure ranges according to the type of accommodation and is on a Monthly rental basis.
